The Con-Beca project is a joint initiative between the NOTS Foundation and Conciencia and was first implemented in May 2003. ConBeca Scholarship / Finished Promotions: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007
With this project we want to give young people without sufficient economic resources the possibility to continue their study and development, so that they can make an active contribution to the development of the local communities they belong to.

From 2003 to 2007 303 students achieved a three (3) year scholarship to continue their educational development.

2003 (Euros 43.050)
41 students shared the Scholarship Program and had an access and continuity to their studies. By the end of 2003 39 families had received support and 39* students were oriented with tutors/guides of the Program. Social Responsibility and commitment were promoted in 19 schools through voluntary service activities. NOTS supported Conciencia with Euros 19.231 and therefore, could sponsor 27 students.

2004 (Euros 23.100)
22 new students entered the Scholarship Program and a total of 63 students, being not able to continue their studies due to financial problems, could have the chance to continue their study and development. These students could later make an active contribution to their local community’s development. NOTS supported Conciencia with Euros 19.782 and therefore, could sponsor 42 students.

2005 (Euros 84.000)
80 new students entered the Scholarship Program and 143 students were actively in the Program, where 8 % of the beneficiaries graduated, 16 % left the Program and 74% appeared to be committed and showed a very good conduct. The students appeared to be much more encouraged and willing to start own projects in life.
NOTS was able to support 92 students.

2006 (Euros168.000)
160 new students entered the Scholarship Program and the total mounted up to 273, where 4% of the beneficiaries graduated, 19 % left the Program and 77% were retained at school.
Students received an unconditional follow up that escorted them in all aspects of their lives and therefore they felt the security from someone taking always care and waiting for them.
NOTS supported Conciencia with Euros 50.893 and therefore, could sponsor 65 students within their scholarship.

2007
No new students entered the Scholarship program but 218 students, actively in the project presently continue with their activities and benefits. 218 students are still enjoying their scholarship in their last Scholarship year. An invaluable result of the program is the insertion obtained by the beneficiaries to society. When these kids were selected, one of the conditions is their poor social background, meaning they did not have access to the normal benefits a society could give to them. When they enter the program and establish a close relationship with their guides they start learning and realizing a lot of things they did not use to have access to.

The most important aim we discovered in the follow up of the escort of the guides is that although during all this time we tried to measure the results only in an academic way, we noticed that from that point of view results may be really frustrating because guides and beneficiaries grew up in a very close and committed relationship that gives them a positive mark in their acknowledgement forever. This is why we apply a human-emotional measure that we consider highly satisfactory.

NOTS could sponsor 50 students encouraging them to finish their educational duties.
