Three (3) are the ones who work and study at the same time and just one girl does not study or work but takes care of her new family.
PESCAR SECOND YEAR PROMOTION (Dec 2005- Aug 2006) The Pescar programme has created a network of educational centres in Argentina, within different enterprises, where teenagers, from low income families, between 16 and 18 years old, with good school grades and with interest in the program, receive a personal and professional education. The main goal of this proposal was to guarantee students their inclusion in society. The project within its second promotion, during 2005 and 2006, reached 17 students to gain a complete and consistent education which would later provide them an access to better-qualified jobs and opportunities. The total funds needed for the program were € 26.694, where € 7.824 was funded by NOTS and € 18.870 by other donors. Currently, 6 students who received Pescar's education are actively working and 2 of them are doing it at the same Education Centre where they have been previously trained, 13 are still studding, attending actual courses to improve their future opportunities and only 4 of them do not study or work but take care of their new families. During the professional educational program, pupils at Pescar have acquired team work habits and have reached consensus ideas from debates and dialogues and learned to respect other opinions, in spite their radical differences. Still more, they learned to speak in front of a big audience in a correct way, focusing on the presentation and defence of ideas. Students took conscience of the importance of their future choices, especially with areas like studies and work. Some of them were already decided, although they knew they have to work hard to have the possibility to study. They, sincerely, valued the experience that this program provided them, like learning about the way a big company works from inside, and the possibility of doing internships, specially because is the kind of opportunity that their parents didn't have. Due to the rotation in different areas of the company, they have learned about the importance of their own initiative in all kind of jobs and areas of an organization, and also learned about the necessity to overcome themselves day after day. According to the characteristics of their ages, and the social and familiar situation in which they live, they have demonstrated a great adaptation capacity to concrete and complex situations?? transmitted Pescar Programa Teacher in the project report in 2006.
